The plan for Melbourne 70.3 was simple: go all in and chase a sub-4-hour finish.But that all changed when I broke my collarbone just a couple of weeks before the World Championships in Wollongong. In an instant, the entire season flipped upside down. I appealed to Ironman for a transfer, but the answer was a flat no. So, I had two choices — sit in frustration, or get to work. I chose the latter. Rehab became my mission. I pushed hard, probably too hard at times, but I managed to bank two solid weeks of training before race week.
